It’s also confirmation that 8.3.5 really did exist at one point (probably would have been just Exile’s Reach), but it was ultimately scrapped, probably because they needed more time to make Exile’s Reach an optional starting experience instead of the full replacement that it was originally intended to be. ![]() When they decided against removing access to the Core Race starting experiences, the “Start classless” idea was likely scrapped along with it. I’m going to guess that at one point in development, Exile’s Reach was meant to fully replace ALL of the “non-Hero Class” Core Race starting experiences 100% instead of simply being an option at character creation. ![]() According to the Reddit itself, this is leftover code for the new starting zone, which apparently was meant to originally be an extension of the creation screen in that you play through exile’s reach classless and choose a class at the end of the starting zone.
